OK, I got patch file from the link above, applied it and created both libmpdclient files and recompiled the lcd4linux with mpd plugin. Next status will be ‘reopened’. If you dont mind to use a hacky approch, remove the dependency from autoconf or add a fake filecopy libmpdclient into the lcd4linux directory and include the file direct from the mpd plugin. So i will try to update config.
Start digging here for instructions. I tried to compile lcd4linux with MPD plugin but I am running in to issues with configure not being able to locate libmpdclient.
If you are less lucky and cannot get a working package, if you have an ar71xx platform device like me, then you can download a prebuilt package from here or mirror If you are even less lucky and run a different build target then you will have to build your own package from lcd4linux and and latest dpflib.
